MORE ABOUT US

Introducing Tanya (Founder | Facilitator | Clinical Psychologist)

Hello! I’m Tanya Moscrop Cantelo, founder of WiSE MiNDS project. I am so thrilled to be sharing our powerful workshops with you and your family! I started the remarkable journey of sharing psychology strategies and happiness with children and their families over a decade ago. Firstly as a high school maths teacher, then as a school counsellor, and now as a clinical psychologist. I have a Masters in Clinical Psychology and a Bachelor of Education. With this combination of training I have been fortunate to work with children of all ages and their families, across vast settings. Working with children is profound. As is working within the field of psychology. Everyday I feel I have contributed positively to someone, in some small way. Far more than this, I feel humbled that I am able to learn as much from the people around me, as I am able to give back to them. I see the power of simple human connection, and I am grateful for this daily.  I currently live in Orange, NSW with my beautiful family. I absolutely adore motherhood and all the challenges it brings with it. Motherhood has only made me more passionate about empowering children and families to build calm and happy households. I look forward to helping you with yours. Wise and happy regards x

What motivates you and WiSE MiNDS project?

Children! Mine and yours. WiSE MiNDS project was built on the possibility of empowering all young people, as well their parents, within the current climate of high daily stress. Modern day stressors and mood disorders are so prevalent the Government recently announced the existence of a “mental health crisis”. Few early intervention programs are established (especially in regional areas) that aim to prevent the increase of mental health statistics. So often instead, mental health treatment is reactive and sought only after a young person is symptomatic. WiSE MiNDS project aims to create a platform that changes this - our workshops are proactive and educate children in protective strategies that afford them the skills and confidence to deal with daily stressors as they arise. Our workshops are targeted at all young people, many of whom may never have considered visiting a psychologist, but who will benefit from life-long psychology strategies, such as cognitive behavioural strategies and emotional regulation skills that are known to protect against unhelpful thinking styles and increase mental fitness.

WiSE MiNDS project values every child as an individual and truly respects the capacity that young minds have to learn, use and maintain wise mind psychology strategies. We genuinely believe that children of all ages have the capacity to improve their view of the world and themselves.
